Two jobs at once
A wrap gives you a finish you cannot order from the factory — satin, matte, forged carbon, or a shift that reads red head-on and black from the side — and it puts a removable layer between your paint and the world. Take it off in a few years and the paint underneath is the paint you started with.
Why the prep is the job
Anyone can lay film on a flat panel. What separates a wrap that still looks right in year four from one that lifts by the first summer is everything before the vinyl comes off the roll: a proper decontamination wash, trim and badges removed rather than cut around, edges wrapped instead of trimmed short, and recesses post-heated so the film stays where it was put.
Removal is a real skill too
We took a satin blue wrap off a Huracán and handed it back on its factory paint. Pulling film cold, or hitting adhesive with the wrong chemical, is how people end up needing a respray — which rather defeats the point of wrapping in the first place.
